Bellevue SchoolPool

This year, Spiritridge is participating in Bellevue SchoolPool City of Bellevue program that encourages the use of alternative transportation modes to and from school in order to alleviate congestion at drop-off and pick-up times and locations.

During the month of October, each student will receive a paper SchoolPool trip log calendar. This is where students will record their walking, biking, carpooling, and bus trips. Calendars that show students have taken at least one alternative trip will raise money for our school!

Too far to walk or bike? Your student can still walk or bike—try “park & go”! Park within walking or biking distance, and walk or bike for the remainder! Click on the interactive Routes to school map to download maps of pedestrian and bicycle facilities in our school’s attendance area.

We need Chairperson for programs and events at Spiritridge!

Dear Spiritridge Community,

Spiritridge PTSA provides support, both financial and through event planning, for many of the fabulous program at school.  Some of our events are in jeopardy because the chairpersons have children who are moving on to middle school soon or are moving out of district, for example.  PTSA is seeking new chairpersons to help continue the tradition of these fine events.  Previous experience is not needed; we can train and support you.  Questions, please email   Have an idea for a new event, please let us know!

Family Science Fair  - The annual community Science Fair is a fun event where all of the students at Spiritridge can participate with science projects and demonstrations. This year we might also incorporate STEM into the fair. We need co-chair.  Usually mid to late April

Carnival  - year-end community event with games, food and prizes.  This is a great project for a team of 2-3 parents - find a friend! Usually first week of June

Game Night & Movie Night - Usually a couple times a year in the evening, an opportunity for families to meet and hang out. Help with concession sales, set up, clean up.

Opportunities to serve on the PTSA Board of Directors are also available.  Consider a Co- position and share the responsibilities with others.  Some of these can be done from your computer or at home!

Vaping: How is your school community impacted?

Finding solutions to student Vaping is an ongoing concern of the district as well as local PTSAs.  Last Spring the Bellevue School District created a District Vaping Steering Committee to work on addressing the current and future needs of the BSD community. If you have any questions, concerns, needs and suggestions on the topic of Vaping, please email to by Monday October 21, 2019. We will forward to Bellevue PTSA Council liaison to be brought to the attention of the District Vaping Steering Committee at their next meeting.

Vaping is not the only Health & Wellness concern of our local PTSAs and school communities.  Our goal is to work together to find common concerns so that together we can advocate for changes, resources, and parent education as needed. We are looking for one PTSA member to represent our PTSA to attend PTSA Council Health & Wellness Committee Meeting being held on Tuesday October 22nd @ 10am  ( in the Council Office - ESC West (first floor, lower level) 12011 NE 1st Street Bellevue, WA 98005).
