Why should you join the ptsa?

When your child comes home excited about participating in the Walk-A-Thon, attending an assembly, enjoying a special Art day, reading with a volunteer or hired tutor, or inviting the whole family to Book Fair/Toymaker Event/Science Fair/Carnival — just to name a few — you have made a difference in your child's life through your commitment to Spiritridge PTSA.

The number one reason to join the PTSA is to benefit your child!

VOICE&VOTE – our membership determines how PTSA can best advocate for our students and enhance their educational experience at Spiritridge. Our PTSA mission is to support and strengthen the Spiritridge community and provide enrichment opportunities for our students.

ACCESS – PTSA members will have access to online directory to stay connected with Spiritridge families. By joining PTSA you get to know what is happening in your school, working with teaches and staff, to impact the success of Spiritridge Elementary.

SAVINGS – PTSA members can save money through local membership benefit providers. For example special rates for printing at Fedex/Great Wolf Lodge/Hertz Car Rentals, etc. Check out the list of membership benefit at

ROI – Your membership and donation support and fund a variety of events and programs – Toymaker Family Event/Holiday Arts & Crafts/Pumpkin & Poem/Reflection/Assemblies/Science Fair/Talent Show/Carnival…and more! Our kids are worth the investment and a strong PTSA illustrates our community’s support to our school and children. You can sign up to purchase membership by visiting our website and click on "Join PTSA". We need Chairperson for programs and events at Spiritridge!

Dear Spiritridge Community,

Spiritridge PTSA provides support, both financial and through event planning, for many of the fabulous program at school.  Some of our events are in jeopardy because the chairpersons have children who are moving on to middle school soon or are moving out of district, for example.  PTSA is seeking new chairpersons to help continue the tradition of these fine events.  Previous experience is not needed; we can train and support you.  Questions, please email   Have an idea for a new event, please let us know!

Kindergarten Noodle Night - Organize participating families to bring noodle dishes to share for dinner and do crafts. This is a great opportunity to meet other K families and your kiddos' new friends. Tentative date of Friday Oct 4th, we'll have to cancel the event if we don't have an event chair.

Walkathon Committee - we need volunteers to help plan and organize the event. This is our biggest fundraiser of the year to raise money and support our school and kids. Walkathon is October 10th 2019!

Auction Committee - We would like to bring our Spring Auction back! Looking for 3 - 4 volunteers to help with planning, procurement, organizing and coordinating this big event. Tentative date of late March 2020

Family Science Fair  - The annual community Science Fair is a fun event where all of the students at Spiritridge can participate with science projects and demonstrations. This year we might also incorporate STEM into the fair. We need co-chair.  Usually mid to late April

Carnival  - year-end community event with games, food and prizes.  This is a great project for a team of 2-3 parents - find a friend! Usually first week of June

Game Night & Movie Night - Usually a couple times a year in the evening, an opportunity for families to meet and hang out. Help with concession sales, set up, clean up.

Opportunities to serve on the PTSA Board of Directors are also available.  Consider a Co- position and share the responsibilities with others.  Some of these can be done from your computer or at home!
